CINEMATIC POKÉDEX
Growing up watching Pokémon, I always thought it was awesome when the main character pulled out his Pokédex to show him all the information about the various types of Pokémon. When Detective Pikachu came out. I was a bit dissapointed that they didn't have one in the movie.
So with that I had an idea to design a fictional UI for the first generation Pokédex that would fit into an cinematic universe that was more sci-fi and realistic. I took this opportunity to continue my learning 3d so I wanted to model my own version of the Pokédex as well as the packaging and the pokeball.

The first step I did in the process was to create 2D assets like the fictional UI, packaging and the graphic design for all the various items needed. After that I went into the modeling of the objects. I wanted to created something a bit more sci-fi and realistic, so I added smaller details to the designs of pokedex and pokeball to make them more realistic.
Knowing I wanted to set up and light this scene, I went ahead and used Blender to set up the materials for the objects and proceeded to light them in the scene. There was a lot of watching tutorials on Youtube and reading different guides to get the understanding of the shaders, nodes, lighting and camera setup as well as basic UV unwrapping.
